Toronto, Dec. 23, 2009 - Primus Telecommunications Canada, the country’s largest alternative telecommunications carrier, tracked the number of long distance calls residential customers made on each of the past 19 major holidays. Canadians made the most calls on Christmas, with 577,205 calls totaling 5,339,685 minutes spent talking on the phone. The second and third most calls were made on Mother’s Day and Diwali, respectively. The complete list is included below.
The findings are based on an analysis of the usage of Primus’ several hundred thousand long distance customers across Canada. Long distance calls include domestic calls as well as out-of-country calls.
