Spam is becoming more and more prevalent and disrupts your business practices daily. Primus Canada provides top-of-the-line Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus protection services to all of our Internet clients at no extra charge.

Each email account is assigned a Message Centre, which will contain all quarantined emails for you to manage. A regular report is sent regularly via email of newly quarantined email. However, you can log into the Message Centre at any time to monitor detained messages.

Primus Internet subscribers also have an option to turn this control off if you would rather manage these messages on your own.

All suspected spam is quarantined in your message centre for you to review. You will now have the ability to:

  • Create approved and blocked sender lists
  • Set personalized filters
  • Turn off Anti-spam services
  • Review detained messages and choose to remove or deliver them
  • Manage multiple email accounts through one account
  • Safely read the contents of a virus-infected email without the risk of harming your system

Information on Sender lists:

  • The Approved Sender List allows you to designate individuals or domains that will always bypass the filters and will automatically be delivered to your inbox.
  • The Blocked Senders List allows you to designate addresses that will always be blocked regardless of content.

Is spam reaching your inbox?
Primus uses heuristic filters that can block up to 95% of spam from reaching your inbox. Unwanted messages can still get through. Follow these steps to maximize your filter effectiveness:

Increase your settings. The more aggressive the filter setting, the fewer spam messages will reach your inbox. Please note that more aggressive the setting, the more often you should visit the Message Center to confirm that legitimate messages are not quarantined. If they are, add those senders or domains to your Approved Sender list.

Review your Approved Mailing List. Do you have other email addresses forwarding to this account? Check to be sure your addresses are NOT on the Approved Mailing List.
