Configuring Outlook Express for multiple accounts

If you have many email accounts scattered all over the Internet, you should be happy to know that Outlook Express can keep all our email accounts in one place. Before you start, ask your system administrator if you are allowed to connect to an external POP3 server.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. To start, you need to have Outlook Express open.

  2. Click on Tools and then on Accounts.

  3. In the Accounts dialogue Box, click on Add and select Mail.

  4. At the first prompt, Display Name, type in your name, then click Next.

  5. In the Internet E-Mail Address dialogue, select “I already have an e-mail address that I’d like to use” and type your Primus E-mail address in the box. Click on Next.

  6. In the E-Mail Server Names box, type in the POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and SMTP servers that you will be using. In our example, the Primus mail servers were specified. Then click on Next.

  7. You should now be in the Internet Mail Logon dialogue. In the appropriate spaces, type in the Account name and Password of the mail account that you will be using. Click on Next.

  8. Click on the Finish button in the Congratulations screen and your account will have been registered. Repeat steps 1-8 for each E-mail account that you want to configure and use.
